My love affair with the doberman began in 1986 with my first dobe, Bean, a big girl from Texas who was rescued from a life as an outdoor dog after her life was threatened by an irate neighbor upset with her for running his cattle. Bean left me on 11/22/99, a five year survivor of cardiomyopathy, she ultimately sucumbed to cancer at almost age 13. Please visit Beans page - she was the ultimate mellow, charming doberman, I had never had any interest in the breed before Bean "accidentally" entered my life and turned this GSD person into a doberman fanatic.

Jane (BISS ARCHX Ch Aeolus Jungle Jane CDX RAE ROM BH RL1X RL2X2 RL3XC NA NAJ GC TDI) came into my life shortly after I lost my Bean. When her breeder asked me what I was looking for in a doberman I told her first and foremost I wanted a "lover". I sure got one! I had no intention of showing her, but things happen! Smart, funny, sweet, beautiful and charming Jane has introduced me to the world of dog show competition, and what a good time we are having. Jane began strutting her stuff in the show ring Thanksgiving weekend 2000 and by December 9 she had her first win and a big one it was - a four point major, best of opposite sex over top twenty specials at the Boston Expo specialty show! Jane rapidly finished her championship and went on to a specials career. Jane was a 2003 DPCA Top Twenty Finalist, she is a multigroup and specialty show winner, and was awarded an AOM at the 2002 Westminster Kennel Club. She has completed her open obedience title, rally advanced excellent (RAE) and BH titles, and is training for utility obedience. Please visit Janes page.

Boo was our one and only attempt to be a foster home - we failed miserably adopting him within 24 hours. He was a big blue boy who had some serious behavioural problems that we were working on with Dr. Nicolas Dodman when sadly he met an accidentally untimely end. Please visit Boo's page.

My Kramer came to me pretty much by default.  His name was Buddy and he was in a shelther in CT for about 4 months and he was quickly moving onto the unadoptable list.  His time was running out and so doberman rescue lists went into overtime for the boy - he was slated for euthanasia the coming weekend.  His story was he was living with an old woman who was senile.  She would forget for days on end to feed him, and she would leave him outside for days simply because she forgot he existed.  So finally her family stepped in and moved her to a nursing home and sent Buddy packing.  He was billed as six years old because no one really knew, the woman was his second home and had him for three years.  But he was six the same way some people are 39 for 10 years.  He was an all natural boy, and no one wanted him.  To make a long story short, after a brief detour through a home I had found for him he came to live with us.
Buddy was renamed Kramer because he had CVI and his unusual gait reminded us of that other Kramer. I am guessing he was between 10 and 12 years old. Kramer was a very cool old dude still full of himself despite his disabilities. He fell head over heels in love with my husband from the moment he saw him, the two old men were soulmates. We had a wonderful 8 months with Kramer, all too short but at last the boy found the comfort and love he so richly deserved. Please visit Kramer's page.

Jane was bred to BIS/BISS Ch Dabney's Phenomenon and delivered one feisty redhead on 12/29/04 Bakari's African Queen "Kate". Being a singleton to two first time moms I think miss kate must be the most photographed puppy in history. Visit Kates page, but beware there are many, many, many, many pictures! Miss Kate is training for schutzhund and has just begun her conformation career and is AKC pointed. Not the natural show girl her mama was training this wild child for the show ring has been an adventure in itself. Kate has so much personality she spends every waking moment living up the well deserved reputation that red girls have. Now I know what all the fuss is about - there is just NOTHING like a red girl, a once in a lifetime experience everyone should have!
